Student and Alumni Awards

Sarah Guinee, a student in the AFA program, was a finalist in the 2013 Hollins University Literary Festival Fiction Competition.

Isaac Faleschini (AFA in Creative Writing, Spring 2013) won a scholarship to attend the Juniper Summer Writing Institute in June of 2013; he also won a writing scholarship to enroll in Hamline University’s BFA in Creative Writing Program.

Patti Lindaberry (AFA in Creative Writing, Spring 2013) won Oakton Community College’s 10 Minute Play Competition, and her play was produced there in July of 2013.

Lukas Hall (AFA in Creative Writing, Spring 2013) won first place for poetry in the 2013 Patsy Lea Core Living Memorial Award in Creative Writing Competition.

Miho Vandeberg, a student in the AFA program, won first place for fiction in the 2013 Patsy Lea Core Living Memorial Award in Creative Writing Competition.

Molly Kessler (AFA in Creative Writing, Spring 2013) won third place for poetry in the 2013 Patsy Lea Core Living Memorial Award in Creative Writing Competition.

Richard Train, a student in the AFA program, won first place for fiction in the 2012 Patsy Lea Core Living Memorial Award in Creative Writing Competition.

Joseph Feinberg, a student in the AFA program, won first place for poetry in the 2012 Patsy Lea Core Living Memorial Award in Creative Writing Competition.

Teresa Klotz (AFA in Creatie Writing, 2012), won second place for fiction and third place for poetry in the 2012 Patsy Lea Core Living Memorial Award in Creative Writing Competition.

Paul Patane, a student in the AFA program, won third place for fiction in the 2012 Patsy Lea Core Living Memorial Award in Creative Writing Competition.

Kyle Adamson (AFA in Creative Writing, 2011) won the 2010 AWP Intro Journals Award for his poem “Debriefing”, which appeared in The Artful Dodge.
