By completing their first two years at Normandale, our students ensure that they are ready to succeed academically and creatively at prestigious four-year schools – and save thousands of dollars, too.  Our students are sought after by four-year schools, because we have a reputation for preparing students for success.  Our faculty are well-published in the genres of fiction, poetry, non-fiction, and play/screenwriting.  Most have won awards for their work, and are well-respected writers and teachers in the Twin Cities literary community. At Normandale, we take the time to get to know our students, and work with them to help them achieve their goals for the writing and their education.  To this end, we work with AFA students to help them identify the most appropriate four-year school and program, and also help them secure financial aid for that transfer.  Alumni of the AFA in Creative Writing program are publishing their work, winning awards, studying creative writing at four-year schools, and going on to complete law degrees and MFA’s in Creative Writing.
